Where does the name 'De Steyger' come from?

De Steyger refers to the word 'steiger'. The spelling with yrefers to the location (Steystraat in the Steylanden district) where the Steyger is located.

"Scaffolding" is an expression that is often used to indicate that something is in preparation is in the start-up phase and not yet fully realized. It can refer to projects, plans or ideas that are currently being developed and are expected to be implemented or completed in the future.

The mission of the Steyger is to offer a soothing, inspiring and green environment to help people, companies and organizations connect and continue to build on everything that is 'in the pipeline'.

Is coffee and tea available?

If you follow a course, training or workshop, this is included as standard in the price.

If you rent the space, you must indicate whether you want this and for how many people. €3 (excl. VAT) is charged per person per part of the day.

Is the Steyger wheelchair accessible?

The Steyger consists of 3 rooms.

  1. Room 'Druiverlaar' is wheelchair accessible and also has an adapted toilet that is accessible to users of the entire Steyger.
  2. Low house (Eik) is wheelchair accessible.
  3. Hoog Huis (Wingerd) is not wheelchair accessible due to doorways that are too narrow.

Every training, course, lecture or workshop that is offered is always takes place in areas that are wheelchair accessible.

Are pets allowed in the Steyger?

No pets are allowed in the Steyger, with the exception of guide dogs or assistance dogs.

Questions regarding your order/reservation/invoice

I can't find my confirmation email, what now?

First check your inbox and spam. If you cannot find your confirmation, please send us an email at info@desteyger.be

Can I change my booking/order, for example to change dates?

Yes, this is possible, but you cannot do it yourself. Please contact us by e-mail (info@desteyger.be). Don't forget to include your order number and clearly state the changes you require.

Can I cancel my reservation/order?

That's possible! However, any cancellation costs are stated in the general terms and conditions (Article 5 cancellation)
